Tourist-Free 2021 Travel Destinations
Since 2020 has been such a complicated, non-travelling year, most of us are already thinking about our travelling plans for the next year. And with the coronavirus probably still in sight, in spite of the vaccine efforts and lockdowns, most of us are thinking of travel destinations that are not too far away so we don’t find ourselves caught up in unwanted coronavirus situations far away from home, where we may find fewer crowds, less expensive flights and possibly amazing places that are not so well-known and waiting to be discovered. You can also ask tour operators such as TUI Villas for assessment and guiding before and during your trip. Either way, here are 5 of the less populated countries in Europe where you can do amazing travelling discoveries:
Finland
Finland is very famous for its almost 200,000 lakes, its deep green forests around sea, rivers and other waterways. There are also plenty of winter activities such as skiing, for which you could book through companies like Sunweb Ski, Northern Lights sightseeing, snow castle and ice hotels built every year and reindeer or dog sleighs. There are also plenty of activities on ice such as ice hockey (which is a very popular sport), ice yachting, ice fishing or ice skating.
Cyprus
If what you’re thinking about for your next holiday escape are beaches, you can always count on this island south of Turkey for some of the most beautiful beaches, great surf spots, rich culture and vast amounts of history, with plenty of archaeological sites to visit, making it a Unesco World Heritage Site.
Norway
Aside from being able, like in Finland, to see one of nature’s greatest wonders, the Northern Lights, and maybe catch a glimpse of a polar bear, you can also visit thousands of their fjords, hike in amazing natural landscapes, maybe jump on Norway’s extensive railway network to explore the country and get to the most remote towns and get to know some of their greatest castles.
Malta
Malta also has more than 7,000 years of history which makes their villages full of interesting places to visit such as temples, megaliths and dungeons. It also has great colourful beaches for those looking for good weather spots, with hidden coves and fun nightclubs nearby. Valletta’s beautiful streets, abundant heritage and amazing architecture has also made it to 2018’s European Capital of Culture.
Austria
Austria, along with Switzerland, is the winter sports capital of Europe, and it is full of amazing lakes and mountains. But aside from its gorgeous landscapes, it is also a country with lots of history and tradition, and plenty of activities such as music festivals in summer, amazing towns and cities, and great hikes through the Alps.
All these countries are full of amazing, open and wide spaces where you can truly enjoy without having to worry about crowds, Covid outbreaks and other difficulties. So whichever one you choose, you will have certainly made the right choice for your future escape.
